چکیده

Dealumination of MCM-68 zeolite with MSE topology enhanced the selectivity to propylene (45-50%) and durability to coke formation during hexane cracking, regardless of the reaction temperature, which is attributed to the control of the position and density of acid sites originating from the framework Al atoms.

Olefin production from catalytic cracking of light fuel oil over different additives

The catalytic cracking of a fuel oil over fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst has been investigated applying different additives. Catalyst mixtures consisting of a equilibrium FCC catalyst (E-Cat) blended with ZSM-5, MCM-41 and Mordenite additives were examined at the additive levels of 25 wt.%. The catalytic performance of the matrix was studied in a fixed bed micro-activity test unit (MAT...

CFD modeling for selective formation of propylene from methanol over synthesized Mn-substituted MFI metallosilicate catalyst

The high silica Mn-substituted MFI metallosilicate catalyst with Si/Al molar ratio of 220 and Si/Mn molar ratio of 50 was successfully synthesized by hydrothermal method. The catalyst sample was appropriately characterized by XRD, FE-SEM, EDX and BET techniques. The Mn-substituted MFI metallosilicate has not been reported as the potential catalyst for the methanol to propylene (MTP) reaction. T...

Effects of Dealumination and Desilication of Beta Zeolite on Catalytic Performance in n-Hexane Cracking

Catalytic cracking of n-hexane to selectively produce propylene on Beta zeolite was carried out. The H-Beta (HB) (Si/Al = 77) zeolite showed higher catalytic stability and propylene selectivity than the Al-rich HB (Si/Al = 12), due to its smaller number of acid sites, especially Lewis acid sites (LAS). However, catalytic stability and propylene selectivity in high n-hexane conversions were stil...

Fluid catalytic cracking: recent developments on the grand old lady of zeolite catalysis

Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is one of the major conversion technologies in the oil refinery industry. FCC currently produces the majority of the world's gasoline, as well as an important fraction of propylene for the polymer industry. In this critical review, we give an overview of the latest trends in this field of research. These trends include ways to make it possible to process either ve...
